LMC Mission strives to unite and strengthen by focusing on those who have been robbed of their basic human rights, the poor and marginalized. Mission is fundamentally about relationships. It is not the work which we do that is important. It is the people we work with. It is about the work that God does in their lives through us, and in our lives through them. By partnering with various support structures, LMC is able to serve a wide variety of needs in our community, our country and beyond. There are many opportunities for you to serve. AKANI SCHOOL
The ministry to the children of Diepsloot aims to nurture children (5 to 13 yrs) physically, mentally and emotionally and thereby enable them to become informed, balanced and productive citizens. Get involved by assisting with activities, projects, arts and crafts.

ALBERT STREET METHODIST CHURCH
The Albert Street Methodist Church, built in 1893, was the first church for Africans in what was formerly called the Witwatersrand Mission. In 1887, the first Wesleyan minister arrived in Johannesburg to help serve the hundreds of thousands of people who flocked to the area to work in the gold mines. |

CENTRAL METHODIST CHURCH
A joint venture with the Methodist church in central Johannesburg , teams can Assist with the ABET program, home-based care, food and clothing, caring for babies and children. |

COSMO CITY METHODIST CHURCH
The Methodist Church has recently bought land in Cosmo City for the establishment of a church, preschool and aftercare facilities. The
congregation of 170 members currently worship in a school hall and at times in the shade. Most of the congregants are former informal settlement
dwellers. |

DISASTER RELIEF
The Lonehill Methodist Church Disaster Relief Ministry (LMC DRM)
unofficially began operations in 2008. Since then, the organization has been
responding to disaters by way of sending truckloads of emergency food,
water, cleaning, and other supplies to disaster victims. |

FLOC
A Central Methodist Mission Deaconess Society project, For Love Of Children (FLOC) day-care center, was established in 1989 to serve as a day-care center. FLOC is housed in the Central Methodist Mission and is managed and run by the Central Methodist Mission Deaconess Society. FLOC, with a compliment of 50 children, serves a diverse population from the Johannesburg inner city. Some of the children come from the 3000 strong refugee community currently being housed at the Central Methodist Mission. |

HEARTS OF HOPE ORPHANAGE
Hearts of Hope exists to see the lives of vulnerable and orphaned children,
affected by HIV/AIDS, enhanced and changed for the better, giving
them an opportunity to develop into community-orientated adults. |

HOSPITAL VISITS
In 2007 Lonehill Methodist Church identified Johannesburg General Hospital cancer unit as a crisis area and launched Hospital Visits Ministry. Join the team who visit patients every six weeks, Sunday afternoon from 2.30 – 4pm. |

ITIRELE - ZENZELE HIGH SCHOOL
This school was established in 1994 and is housed in the homestead of what was once a mushroom farm. The school is located in Diepsloot, which is home to about 150
000 people, many of which live in 3m by 2m shacks assembled from
scrap metal, wood, plastic and cardboard. |

LESEDI
An upliftment program in patnership with the Refilwe community in Lanseria.
The aim of the project is to provide children with quality early childhood education, as well as, to provide a life transforming aftercare programme. The Lesedi Project supports two income generating community servicing enterprises, a small bakery and sewing group. |

MOBILE MEAILS
Mobile Meals offers a weekly meal and spiritual encouragement to the homeless in our community. The team meets every Thursday evening at 5.30 at Crawford College, Lonehill, fills the truck with food and heads out to feed over 500 people along Main Rd. |

NEHEMIAH PRE-SCHOOL
The project takes inspiration form Nehemiah, who set about rebuilding the
broken walls of Jerusalem when the Israelites returned from exile. The aim
is to provide high quality care and education for underprivileged children. |

RESTORITIVE JUSTICE
Bringing the light of Christ into the darkest places, the prison ministry aims to share the grace of Jesus with those who appear to have no hope. By providing counselling, teaching and support, we hope to restore broken lives and aid prisoners as they integrate back into society to lead full lives which are productive and sustainable. |

THUSANANG
The Thusanang Project was foundend in January 2006 to provide care and support for orphans and vulnerable children, including meals, after-school care and support groups. |
