All you need is love...

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
Mark 12:30-31

40LOVE was an incredible time in the life of our church, a time of focusing on the greatest commandment of all - LOVE! The 40 day campaign resulted in many new home groups starting out, and a deepened sense of God’s love and our call as Christians to share that love.

What you said

“Chris and I have thoroughly enjoyed leading the 40LOVE group. We are happy to continue as leaders for this current group. The indication is that at least 8 people,10 with Chris and I, would like to continue to meet weekly. In this regard I would love some guidance from yourself in terms of what to cover weekly etc.   As a group our Outreach project is to Cluny Farm. We will be agreeing on a day and then we are all going there to get our hands dirty either gardening or cleaning the debris down by the wetlands. I am personally very excited.”

“We are going to continue with our group as leaders – we have an awesome group!!!

“Our group is continuing. We have a little bit of a (good!) problem though as some of the group members have invited friends & we may need to split into two groups.”

“Our home group will continue.  It has been amazing!”

“I can't tell you how much Johan and I have enjoyed hosting our home group, we have really grown as a group and have made some wonderful friends. We will definitely be carrying on”

“Our group that meets every second Thursday night in Lonehill will continue as usual.
We have been meeting ever since the 40 Days of Purpose campaign... 4 years ago???
We also acquired 3 new members through this 40Love Campaign.”

“We have loved the 40Love Course and are so thrilled with our home cell group.  We really all get on very well and will definitely be continuing to meet each week.  We are going to study the 5 Love Languages of Children over the next couple of weeks and then have ordered the God at Work Course”

“We (sadly) concluded our 40LOVE series last night.  We did attend the ONELOVE night together as a group ahead of the mid-term break and we were all bowled over by the evening!!!   It was touching, powerful and memorable for us as a group.   We have so enjoyed this series and have shared our (different) views and perspectives freely in our group.  It has been a new and challenging dynamic moving from an all ladies group to a group of married couples - but the blessing of having our hubbies journeying with us has been such a blessing!  Most of them have never belonged to a home group before and not one of them missed a week during 40LOVE - considering their hectic and demanding work schedules, we know that this was nothing other than the hand of God!!
During discussion time last night, our group expressed an eagerness to continue meeting - the men included!!  All of whom joined for 40LOVE only!!!  So we feel very blessed in this regard.”

“Our group is going strong ! We are enjoying the course and learning from each other, it’s so great.
This weekend that passed we as a group had our outreach project it was such a great experience for all.
We took about 15 kids( ages 7 to 12 years ) from the St. Mary's Children’s Home to the Elephant Wallow in Pilanesberg. This allowed us to travel with them to get to know them on a personal bases. I was blown away by the kid’s love, excitement as this is totally out of my comfort zone. The Elephant Wallow in Pilanesberg provided the entire experience for nothing, yes for nothing ! how great is that.
The kid’s got to interactive with live Elephants, they enjoyed feeding them and asked  many questions.”

“I just want to say thank you so much for placing me into Linda and Barrie’s home group.  I have had the most wonderful Monday evenings with the most wonderful people.  It was so good that we are meeting again next Monday at Miriam’s home.  Thank you again.  I was most impressed on Sunday evening also when I went to the evening prayers for the first time.  We got our blanket each, I got another one and gave it to our gardener here at work.  He is from Zim and his family have NOTHING there.  He is taking them home in July when he goes.”

Love Stories

Some stories from the congregation...

Andrew & I met at a Sandown Open Party when we were 15. We dated for 8 months and then went our separate ways, but continued to see each other at mutual friends homes. 7 years later we became a couple and have never looked back. We’ve been married 8 years. I for one loved him and knew I’d marry him the day I met hi, when we were 15!
